Historic Yates Cider Mill in
Rochester Hills, Michigan

Yates Cider Mill has been making cider longer than any other mill in Michigan and is one of the oldest cider mills in the country.

Visitors to Yates often say that they feel like they are stepping back into a simpler time. These days, there just aren’t many places where you can not only feel like you’re stepping back into history, but that you also feel like you can be a part of it. That’s all a part of what has made Yates Cider Mill a local favorite and a popular tourist destination for decades.

Yates has aged well, and we have people like you to thank for that. Yates has been a point of reference for many people — an anchor point of experience and memories over the years that they can come back to and know that it will be there for them. Because of this, Yates is a pretty big deal for a lot of people, and we take that to heart with everything we do.

But the history is just one element of what makes Yates so special to so many. It’s also about the relationships, the fun, and, of course, the phenomenal treats.

The
Cider

Made with a variety of apples and with no preservatives, Yates Cider Mill’s smooth cider is a favorite among patrons. Try our original cider, cider slush, cider cremesicle, hot apple cider, or sparkling cider.

the
pastries

Yates Cider Mill donuts make the quintessential fall treat, but many more delectable pastries are made on site.

Our popular caramel, double crust, and Dutch apple pies are made with the baker’s favorite Northern Spy Apples. Our donut bread pudding ala mode, apple crisps, apple turnovers, apple fritters, and molasses cookies are all flavors unique to Yates and will be sure to become a favorite of yours.

Get them in person at the mill or buy a select variety online.

the
Petting Farm

Come see our goats — such as the popular Billy, Milly, and Buttercup (Princess Buttercup, if you please) — at the mill throughout the summer. And come back in the fall to visit sheep, miniature cows, horses, Lucy the Llama, or other farm animals!
